What’s New: 2025 Annual Notice of Change

September 24, 2024 // News

Your Medicare beneficiary clients should be reminded that they should have received a letter or email in September about their 2025 coverage and costs.

The Annual Notice of Change will outline changes to Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, including whether a plan will be offered in 2025 and if your client’s prescriptions will be covered and the costs.

If your client has a Medicare Advantage (MA) Plan, their insurer will also provide information on differences in plan premiums, deductibles, or co-pays for the coming year. It will also inform the client whether their doctors and hospitals will remain as a part of the plan’s network in 2025.

2025 Changes include a $2,000 prescription drug cap on out-of-pocket expenses for prescriptions covered by Part D plans. This may mean higher premiums, deductibles, or co-pays as insurers look to recoup costs. Clients will have even more reason to look to trusted AMAC Broker Services agents to help them navigate plans that work best for their health needs while fitting within their budgets.

Agents should review MS benefits not covered by original Medicare, including dental, vision, hearing, and gym memberships to make sure clients are aware of significant changes in 2025.

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from October 15 to December 7. Your clients can switch from one Part D and/or MA plan to another during this time. Higher premiums may not be the sole reason to change plans, since availability of prescription and providers should be considered.  Subsidies provided to insurers by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) should help curb premium increases and stabilize costs in 2025.
