Terminating MA Plans – ABS Can Help! Guaranteed Issue Policies!
The 2017 annual Open Enrollment Period for Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plans (MA-PD) runs from October 15th through December 7th. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) anticipates more than 240,000 people will lose their coverage due to carrier plan termination.
People who will lose their MA plan can switch to Original Medicare along with a Medicare Supplement for 2017. Agents are afforded the opportunity to offer guidance and options to seniors who are seeking the help of a trusted advisor.
AMAC Broker Services represents carriers with GUARANTEED ISSUE Medicare Supplement Plans for seniors with terminating MA Plans. Rates are competitive. Contact ABS to find out more! A copy of the plan Termination Notice is required.
If a senior does not join a new plan by December 31, 2016, CMS will automatically switch them to Original Medicare, and CMS will randomly assign them a new Part D plan with no lapse in prescription drug coverage.
It is expected that terminations will affect approximately 77,000 seniors in New York, 40,000 in California, 30,000 in New Jersey, 13,000 in Montana, and 13,000 in Florida.
