CMS Announces…
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services the Medicare population is expected to increase to more than 80 million beneficiaries in 2030, up from 54 million in 2015. As of 2016, about two-thirds of Medicare beneficiaries indicate they use the Internet daily or almost daily (65%).
To accommodate the future of Medicare beneficiaries, CMS announced a multi-year initiative to give Medicare beneficiaries a more personalized customer experience.

Medicare & You Brings a user-friendly experience and the ability to access documents in a mobile-friendly format. Paper copies and electronic versions are also still available.
Medicare.gov Now offers a simplified log in for accessing the online Medicare Plan Finder (no longer requires 5 pieces of information to authenticate). Some beneficiaries can use the new Webchat option.
Medicare’s Blue Button This new, consumer-facing feature allows your clients to easily and securely download personal health information to a file.
Electronic Summary Notice Allows your Medicare clients to view their explanation of benefits in a more timely manner.
New CMS Medicare Video This video includes insights from Medicare beneficiaries on what they expect from Medicare and includes remarks from Administrator Verma outlining her vision for a modernized Medicare program.
CMS says that their new eMedicare initiatives are geared to help beneficiaries compare options at a deeper level, so they can decide if Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage is right for them!
